I have heard from reliable sources that Shane Hamman USA 's top 105+ lifter, is retiring from competition. - Marty Schnorf  8/8/05

John,
      Just one small point: I do not know that Shane was top US pl-er at the time he switched. He was near the top to be sure, but at that time USPF was still the IPF affiliate and was the big show. Shane lifted well at USPF Seniors shortly before his switch and had a very stirring battle with the late Anthony Clark, but Clark did pull out the win, as I remember.

... Tragic - I'm really gonna miss him!  At least, he stayed until the 2005 PanAms - took 3 Golds! . .   :shock:
