would help double, triple, the membership of The Weightlifting Exchange very quickly, and would do a lot to get good weightlifting information and a professional image more engrained into the public consciousness.

So ask a couple of lifters or fans to register. They'll thank you.

It's a great site and it can be even greater if everyone
does a little bit to spread the word.

Just thought I'd be the squeaky wheel on this point as a reminder
that every member is important and needed.

This appeal was unsolicited.
To be is to do

~ Thank you, Don! . . .

~~ I agree.  I am NOT very diplomatic, but I can come up with improvements & suggestions.  I'd love to see more LIFTERS and Jr. & Sr. Nat'l. Champs posting here.  It's GREAT to have masters & old-timers.  Look at our MODERATORS - We got FORMER nat'l. champs Dane Hussey & Gary Deal, and PRESENT Nat'l. Champ Chris LeRoux.  By the way, Mr. Deal just took 3 golds at Masters' Worlds!!!

~~ I'd like to hear your words of encouragement - I promise I'll respond if you start a Thread!  We've got lots of Members on the Memberlist who have, it seems, STOPPED posting.  Did they lose interest?  What's goiong on?

Did he do other events besides weightlifting?

As with other choices in life, word-of-mouth among friends carries heavy influence.

What Chris and staff are doing here is phenomenal, but it has the 'drawback' of being one step ahead of the cusp so that perhaps many are not aware that what is being built here is forward thinking and will be the reference room of tomorrow, indeed it is now for those aware of it.
Chris is always thinking. Thinking how can I improve this website. Then he acts on his thoughts.

Lucky members.

There are other lifting websites that skip along and spend more time self-correcting behaviour than in building meaningful references. Websites that have never gotten started in any meaningful way even though they are years old.

Here is a site months old that is mature.

Possible explanations

* The member may only be looking for information.

* The member may feel uncomfortable posting. Remember how you may have been apprehensive in asking a question in a classroom, because you were afraid of the response from classmates.
That is not the case with this forum. Everyone who is looking for an answer to a question should feel free to post. You will get well thought out responses. If you feel uncomfortable posting, use the PM feature.
I will be the first to admit that I have posted some of my training thoughts that were probably way off base, in the hope that some of the well qualified coaches could straighten me out. This is a very POSITIVE forum. I have heard from friends of past and made new friends in this forum.

Finally, we should all be thankful for the amount of time and work that Chris and John have put in to make this a quality lifters community.
If I was doing any better, I would be twins!!!

~~ First, let me say that I'm delighted that you're a moderator.  I remember when you won the Sr. Nat'ls. as a 60/132.27 Lifter.  You stayed at it for several years and won!  I also remember the muscular Phil Sanderson from your era.

~~ We've got a thread going on in the GENERAL forum:  "Suggestions" by Chris LeRoux.  Personally, I can't understand why USAW persists in saying "There are currently NO FORUMS." Also, they should list us in their LINKS.  I get the impression they WANT TO be "all-powerful and inaccessible" to the lowly USAW members like me.  They never invite us to VOTE on anything.  They never started their own Forum.  They're gonna work on THEIR priorities, using THEIR agenda.  As far as the rest of us are concerned, Am I the only one who believes they just don't give a xxxx? . .

"They never invite us to VOTE on anything."

Terry, you could go to your LWC and vote at that meeting.  Then, you could be elected as a delegate from your LWC and vote at the BOG meeting.  What LWC are you in?  They get delegates based on the number of members, ranging from one to six.

Terry,

As I told you, I have already begun discussions with the USAW about adding our link. They have not refused yet. In fact, I believe they will do it, in due time.

And, as far as the USAW organization being unaccessible, I have to strongly disagree. Have any of you (members) noticed that Paul Fleschler, our mens' resident coach at the OTC has committed to participating in the Rocky Gibraltar project here? His name is on the list of participants in the general forum. In fact, Paul has been very approachable and cooperative in this regard. I believe he is putting a great deal of work into putting together a comprehensive program for Rocky and our members to study, including a statement of philosophy and rationale for the program. Have you noticed that Peter Roselli, a USAW BOD member and USAW treasurer is doing our next interview for the forum and will even be discussing some of the USAW BOD/financial issues? Wes Barnett, our USAW executive director, has also provided support to our efforts here on this forum, although I don't have time or inclination (want to surprise you later) to discuss it right now.

I believe all of these things are quite significant signs of support and interest coming from the USAW and I promise you that the USAW is supporting our efforts and they do care, from all I can tell as an administrator of this forum.

Finally, I want to say that the key to getting more support and participation from the USAW leadership is to make them feel welcome and appreciated when they do so. If they do not feel welcome, respected, and even appreciated for these types of efforts, which are actually beyond the call of duty, then they will eventually withdraw all support and participation.
