CONGRATULATIONS ADMIRAL, COACH RICH LANSKY, AND TEAM USA!
Robert "The Admiral" Murphy missed his first two snatches at 155kgs so that he could really put the pressure on himself and come out and make it on the third attempt. This placed Rob second in the snatch by 2kgs to the Columbian lifter who made 157kgs.

Then, both Rob and the Columbian lifter opened successfully with 180kgs in the clean and jerk. While Rob jumped to 188kgs successfully on the second attempt, the Columbian made a more conservative effort at 185kgs. Thus, Rob pulled in to the lead by 1kg! The Columbian then took and made 190kgs to seize a two kilogram lead and put all the pressure and all the marbles in the Admiral's hands. Since Rob was heavier, he needed 193kgs for the victory, and he came out and made it!!

~ Yeehoo!  The Admiral sails off with the Gold Medal! . . .

~~ You really pulled that one out of the fire!  But please, open much lower next time!  . . .
~~ Nice comeback from being the heavier man and down 2 kgs in the snatch.  I like the 3 successful C+Js.  I like the way you made 188 and then waited for Cossio to finish - then did the needed 193 for the win!  Is this your first PanAm Total Gold Medal? . . .   :)
