Butch Curry:
Looking at the start list, with every class lead by an American Male (if entered), this is going to CO$T REALLY BIG BUCK$. Lance, Chad, Murphy, Pete & Shane listed as 1st and Matt Innocent & Casey all listed 2nd!
The (American) Women aren't so lucky. Cheryls the only class leader.
Terry Thompson:
~ Butch ... You were right on the money with your predictions: Not only did the Cubans NOT send a Team, but also Ecuador! I examined that Start List last night - it OMITTED the Aussies! But, just looking at the PanAm Competition...
..........Here are my Predictions:
W48s: Flip a coin! These 4 girls can total 160: Remigia Arcial (VEN), Roxana Osorio (COL), G. Candelario (Dom Rep), Carolina Valencia (MEX).
W53s: Rodriguez (180) vs. Lemus (180) for Gold - both Columlbians. Dom Rep's Deys takes Bronze.
W58s: I like Maryse Turcotte (CAN) to win. Gretty Lugo (VEN), R. Villar (COL), and M. Perez (COL), can all total 200! Awfully tough for Jackie Berube to medal!
W63s: Mercedes Fernandez (ARG) wins - (210). It's a WAR for Silver & Bronze! As many as 6 girls could total 200, (inclludes Natalie Woolfolk & Carissa Gordon).
W69s: Ubaldina Valoyes (COL) takes Gold. Danica Rue fights ARG's Valeria Fontan (220), for silver.
W75s: COL's Tulia Medina vs. ARG's Nora Koppel for Gold! I like Wanda Rijo (DOM), for 3rd. Eva Dimas or Cara Heads could finish 4th.
M56s: Two Columbians battle for the Gold: Nelson Castro & Sergio Rada. M. Lopez (ESA), takes bronze.
M62s: 1. O. Figueroa (COL), 2. Groulx (CAN).
M69s: Brazil's W. Silva wins Gold. WE SHOULD HAVE SENT HENRY BROWER! Battle for 2nd/3rd: Maldonado (P.R.), Sanchez (VEN), Cabeza (ESA).
M77s: VEN's Octavio Mejias wins Gold. I like Lance Frye over Edison Angulo (COL) 325, and USA's Matt Bruce for Silver. I could see the U.S.A. finishing with Total silver/bronze - IF something happens to Angulo.
M85s: I like COL's Hector Ballesteros to win. Battling for 2nd/3rd are 2 Columbians and an American: J. Ruiz (350), C. Andica (350), and our Chad Vaughn.
M94s: VEN's Julio Luna takes the Gold! Battle for Silver: COL's Jairo Cossio (360), vs. our Robert Murphy.
M105s: If Pete Kelley can total in the 375-382.5 range, he has a very real chance to win the Gold! Two Columbians had 370 entry Totals and an ARG guy had 365!
M105+: Shane wins easily. I like Casey Burgener for 2nd, BUT Hildegar Morillo (VEN) has totalled 380 several times, over the years!
