Does anyone know why Doug Briggs was DQ'd from Master's Pan Ams by the IWF Anti-Doping Commission?

Lucky for doug, the association he owns (the awa) isn't recognized by the IWF so he can still lift. This has always been one of the problems with the awa. USA Weightlifting would ban a lifter for failing a test and the awa would let them lift.

Reversal of Suspension for Alleged Violation

To Anne and others:
I received notice approximately one week ago that my appeal had been considered and the suspension was reversed. In addition to the suspension being overturned, my appeal money was refunded, the first place medal and place in the record books restored, the team points restored (which is a big deal because with the suspension the Dominican Team won the team trophy and that has now come back to the US), and all other issues are returned to the point at which this started.
I never had any doubt that I would be vindicated in this matter and I would like to thank all of those involved in the appeal for their hard work and dedication. This is proof that the system will work if given the opportunity.
This will make one more interesting chapter in my book!
Sincerely,
Doug Briggs
