TheRedReaper:
Mark Rippetoe advises that guys looking to bulk up big time in strength training ought drink a gallon of milk (nearly 4 liters) a day.
Milk is available where I live in Thailand, but it is not entirely cheap on my poor assed budget. The cost is about $5.50 in US conversion. But I'm having trouble putting on real bulk. Muscles are growing, and fast I suppose, but not fast enough. So I figured I should try this.
What do people think? I'll probably start in a week, after my birthday piss up, since I'm probably going to have to give up beer to afford it (f*ck fu*k fuc*)...
I'll post the results.
Arturo Gómez:
4 gallon? I think may be nutritive, but too heavy for digestion. Probably better improve gradually from minor volumes.
eo1bart:
That's an old school method. Just use whey protein instead
TheRedReaper:
4 gallon? No, 4 LITERS
Protein? Why? Too much protein is just useless, isn't it?
Andy Dick:
Obviously there is more nutritional value from milk than just whey protein. From my studies you will get a higher amount of whey protein from whole milk, than skim or 1%, but you also get more fat. The benefit over milk than pure whey, from a stand point of putting on mass, is the higher amount of calories in milk. I know a few people who have done this but I never really talked to them about it. I can if you would like.
