Torso Rotation during wl exercises

(1/3) > >>

Weightlifting Holland:
I have a shoulder injury for about 9 months. I taught it started with heavy jerks. But....in fact during the snatch my torso is rotating to the left side. What can I do? The chiropractor said that my right part of the brain isn't active enough and that's the reason why my torso (back) rotates backwards / leftwards.
Is there anybody who's familiar with this problem? How can I improve a more straight torso?

Arturo Gómez:
How stays your feet in snatch? Are they symmetric?

Weightlifting Holland:
yes, I wear soles in my wl shoes too. The bar is straigt in horizontal position, but it's rotating backwards on te left side. Im trying to train the right half of the brain, but I really don't know if it can do anything for me....

So....if there's someone with the big solution here ?? :D  :)thumbsup

movmasty:
How old are you, how many yrs of training, weight lifted?

Shoulders injuries depend mostly from pulls, specially from High Pulls or upright row, dont do.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upright_row

As for the snatch prob, is cocntemporary to the shoulders pain? Recover from injuries before to train again.

Is one arm-shoulder weaker than the other?
If you rotate left maybe is the left part to be weak, do power snatch with 2kg more on the weaker part and weighted hyperextensions before to do the complete snatch.

Weightlifting Holland:
Im 27 years old. I started a couple of years ago (21 y/o) with bodybuilding training and powerlifting. But When I trained in a WL gym with some other guys I just really loved the classical weightlifting movements.

I never did high pulls and stuff like that, because I think it's not necessary for the classical lifts.

In fact, the problem is that I never recovered from the injurie and started training too soon. It's the Teres Minor muscle of the rotator cuff.

I did power snatches for a while, but it seems to be harder for the injured shoulder than full snatches.

The ''right part of the brain training story'', which the chiropractor said; you guys think it's logic? ...Because I never heard it before....

Thnx for the repplies...
