Torso Rotation during wl exercises

<< < (2/3) > >>

Arturo Gómez:
So, may be a different mobility in both shoulders. Probably need fisioterapy.
Another question: can you make overhead squat normally or it produces rotation too?

Weightlifting Holland:
I had fysiotherapy, manual therapy and chiropraction..... I didn't weighlift for about 4 / 5 months to heal the muscle, but it didn't help.

And yes overhead squats are absolutely no problem. it's because of the acceleration in the snatch....only then the torso rotates to the left side.

What Im now trying to do is:

For the snatch:

-A very long warm up
-3 worksets of powersnatches
-3 worksets of full snatches
-Paused Block snatch (2 seconds @ the bottom)

Clean & Jerk:
-3 worksets clean & Pushpress
-3 worksets clean & Jerk

Maybe this can relief the pain

Arturo Gómez:
If no problem with overhead squat, must be different strength in the rise of the bar.
the strategy adopted seems right.
Suggest: a "slow" variant of power snatch, focusing in shoulder work.

Weightlifting Holland:
slow? :D I only can do the lift with enough speed. slow is really difficult. but... I will try...and Im a real hip/leg lifter in the snatch. I just use the hips for speed and power, very low shrug usage.

Thnx for the tips btw :D

Arturo Gómez:
that slow power snatch is an auxiliar with you make with a low weight (aprox 50% over snatch).
