lol. I thought my answer was concise but Tom is absolutely correct that my statement, "No straps for front squats" should really have been stated, "No straps for squats." As a work-around for flexibility issues, that video above shows a clever use of straps that might help football players. It isn't a good path for weightlifters to attempt IMO. Best of luck.

Thankyou for a decent reply.

I'm getting the feeling my problem is technical, anyway. Just need to know about straps, but.

I'll put some hardcore hairy and sweaty bare chested vids of me up later, when I get my camera back from repair. I know it helps people with looking at the prob, but I thought the description was good enough. Though when I think about it, even I'm not even sure what I'm doing without seeing a vid of myself.

I think the problem might have been in having the hands too far apart for one. I thought hand width on the bar was defined by shoulder width. Turns out it is more related to flexability and the length of your arm bones in comparison to one another (being if the fore arm is longer than the upper arm, or if you're not flexible, you need a wider grip). I've narrowed my grip and feel a lot more comfortable.

Another issue was "squat depth" misunderstanding. People were always saying to make sure you reach your full depth. No one told me that that did not mean you were supposed to go as far down as you can - I was squatting deeper by turning my hips in and that put a slight round in my back, caving my chest forward. I thought that was just what you did for squat depth. Stupid ass. Now I figure what you're meant to do is go as low as you can without shifting your hip position nor unstraightening your spine, which is not actually as far down as you can potentially go. The reason this is related to shoulder pains might be that because my spine was unstraightened by going to full "squat depth" I was failing to straighten back up again on the ascent, meaning the bar had moved forward, putting more pressure on my hands and thus shoulders.

I can do front squat perfect now, but. And am getting close to 100 kilo. I'll put a vid up of it soon to show the difference between now and that terrible technique I had a couple months back.

Morgan? Do you mean me?
If so, my belly will certainly not reduce! Infact, I stuff myself stupid every day just to make it bigger. I want to be as fat as Hossein Rezazedah in a few years. My theory is for as long as the body is growing and you are training, you are getting stronger. Like a never ending growth spurt. For heavyweight lifters, fat is just a byproduct of muscle growth. Not much to be done for it.

Well, Pisarenko lifted more than Reza Zadeh at just 125k, and Reza Zadeh at 160kg more than Chemerkin at 180, Taranenko lfted 266kg with a bodyweight of 120kg
You must get stronger muscles and flexible tendons to support an overweighted body, meanwhile try to get a more athletic look,
supernutrition is for heavyer weights and trainings, do also some bike and swim.
Remember that 3 months in a year are for rest(that is very light training) and when you rest you have to reduce your fat.
Try to become a Schwarzenegger before than a Reza Zadeh.

What the hell? Become a Shawrneggar? Arnold used **** loads of drugs to get a physique like that. Not to mention he no doubt could not clean and jerk for sh!t.

Do you even know why people get fat in heavyweight powerlifting and weightlifting? There is little choice in it. Muscles need fuel to grow. To create the ideal enviroment for muscle growth, you need to eat a LOT of food. Either that or take drugs. Muscles simply need food to grow. Eating this amount of heavy meat, milk, carbohydrates, it is inevitible that you will get some fat. Given there is no cardio training in this sport, you cannot burn the fat off, either.

People who have a visible six pack are frankly either not as strong as they could be (meaning they've gimped their weight gain to fit into a lightweight class and thus sacrificed strength they otherwise could have had - which might not matter too much for the comp, but they potentially could have had a much greater PR), or they are feeding their muscle growth with drugs instead of food.

Given I am a heavyweight and cannot change that, I do not need to worry about weightclass. I create the most potent bloodstream to feed my muscles as I can by giving them a virtually unlimited source of food. As a result, I gain strength rapidly. This is a basic principle of strength sport. You have just revealed yourself as not very smart.
