Uhmm, i did firsts squats only after one year of training, first year was only snatch....
So i suppose that one has to strenght his own back before to do squats.

Then take your rest until pain disappears, do back hyperextension with weights, stretching for appropriate muscles, squat with bodyweight....THEN begin squatting with weights.
