Indespensible eh? So, without drug testing there would be no sport? How did sport survive for so many centuries without it?
But I'm not so confident that drug use has been brought down so far. As for his example of the amount of weight lifted - I think it is the training that improved, and now has been mastered. Not so much the drugs. Drugs or no, it is not going to be easy for anyone to clean and jerk over 260k. The training has now maximized potential, but the ability of the human body to perform is in the end limited.
270k does not sound much heavier than 260k, but I'm sure you all know it is. What was Hossein's first lift in Sydney? 260? And in 4 years training, he was only able to get it better by 3.5 kilo. There's something to be said for that - is that all the training in the world could not make him much better. Though he failed his second lift, I believe if he had have got them all, he might have tried for 267.5 or so. Guess we'll never know. I'd like to see someone break that record. Even if they used more steroids than a race horse, it's still just too close to max human potential.
There is not the slightest bit of evidence that drug testing is reducing deaths. None.
If Amerika would stop demonizing Muslims and apologize for the wrongs it has done, for the violent interference it has done in lands not its own, the Muslims will forgive and we can have peace. It takes enormous strength to admit one is wrong. It takes enormous power to give in to an enemy. But it works. If the U.S. government declared peace unilaterally and withdrew all forces from Muslim lands and stopped committing aggression against them, the Muslims would soon happily join us in peace. It is human nature. Amerika is sticking its nose in other people's business, violently. It should not surprise Amerika that people want to punch it in the nose. It is a very harsh lesson that has to be learned.
Of course human body has his limits, but year after year performance goes on,does not make sense to lift 265 in 1984 and 260 in 2012 when the record of the 100m has increased of almost 5 hundredths every Olympics since 1984, but advanced not more than 3 before... in fact training and overall improvements boosted after 1980.Recall the progression1951-182.51984-2652004-263.5should have been about1951-182.5 1984-230/235 2004-263.5Kurlovitch and Chemerkin took steroids in their youth, for this classes changed 2 times in 1996 and 2000, whereas Reza Zadeh was very strong, ahead like Bolt.
Hossein suffered from high pressure. this prevented him to partecipate in 2008 and to train adequately after 2000He was the first top lifter totally drug free, and the only of these to do that performance. In wl steroids are more effective, one stronger lifts more, whilst doesnt immediately runs faster,But weights are heavy themselves, for this wl touched the maximum tolerable first.Random controls give an effective security against drugs.
