America loves conformity and the status quo. Any questioning of the status quo is basically unwelcome. Since this site allows for absolute free speech, short of direct eminent threats of violence, it makes sense to me that it is less popular than the heavily censored sites ruled by the status quo.
This message is in reply to Chris LeRoux. I was just reading a reply on Go Heavy where Sarah Robles was replying to an inappropriate, impolite post about her at the Olympics. Many of the posts on Go Heavy are argumentive, and lack respect. It has been like this since I started coming on Forums in 2005. Now I am reading the posts on Weightlifting Exchange. No personal attacks that I can see yet. No unjust or negative criticisms so far. So yes you do have the best Forum but you need to look at the pertinance of the presence of politics and the necessity of having political messages in an Olympic Weightlifting forms. Anyways the activity will pick up after the summer as weightlifting is more a winter sport than a summer sport. All my best regards to all who participate on Weightlifting Exchange.
There is no such thing as "free" speech. Many people paid a very high price so that speech might be free in this country.
America is no more capitalist than it has free speech. Capitalism is only possible in a state of anarchy, a condition where no one is above the law, a condition where there are no rulers and ruled. Government is the negation of private property and thus capitalism since government claims ultimate control over usage and disposal, ownership, over everyone and everything. Only the black markets are capitalist and even then half the transaction (the price of the dollar) is regulated, at least. The U.S. government, like all government no matter what it calls itself, is fascist, since it allows the pretense of private property to maintain personal incentive with real ownership maintained in government. Government is the negation of law since law to be valid must be universal, which is impossible under government since government is simply legalized crime, a protection racket where the rulers are "allowed" to rob, terrorize and murder. Government is crime, terrorism, slavery and chaos while anarchy, capitalism, is voluntary, lawful and orderly.
