I have concluded that America despises free speech. America loves conformity and the status quo. Any questioning of the status quo is basically unwelcome. Since this site allows for absolute free speech, short of direct eminent threats of violence, it makes sense to me that it is less popular than the heavily censored sites ruled by the status quo.

There is no such thing as "free" speech.  Many people paid a very high price so that speech might be free in this country.  The fact that speech is free doesn't mean you shouldn't think before engaging in it - it might be better if we charged people to speak - maybe there would be more thought put into it.

Speech is NOT free in this "country." There are an enormous number of violations to the principle, and there has been since the alien and sedition acts [all along]. So, anyone who died for free speech didn't die for anything since we don't have it and most Americans don't want it anyway.

Just having come back from a stupid chat site where the moderator pretends to be different people, and the other moderator (a girl) defends the abuse of power through intimidating and banning people not in the clique. Ok, to sum it up, the mod (the guy one), was worried I would win over his favorite girl. Apparently, she is a real slut, but he doesn't get any anyway. With that said, it is nice to read the truth.

This message is in reply to Chris LeRoux.   I was just reading a reply on Go Heavy where Sarah Robles was replying to an inappropriate, impolite post about her at the Olympics.    Many of the posts on Go Heavy are argumentive, and lack respect.    It has been like this since I started coming on Forums in 2005.    Now I am reading the posts on Weightlifting Exchange.    No personal attacks that I can see yet.    No unjust or negative criticisms so far.     So yes you do have the best Forum but you need to look at the pertinance of the presence of politics and the necessity of having political messages in an Olympic Weightlifting forms.   Anyways the activity will pick up after the summer as weightlifting is more a winter sport than a summer sport.    All my best regards to all who participate on  Weightlifting Exchange.
I think this site gets less attention because the man doing the snatch at the top of the page looks like he's putting his heart into it, yes, but he's hardly the scene of beauty and appeal... you'd do better to have pictures of Helena Wong or someone.

As for lacking respect, this is the internet - everyone is an expert who needs bow to no wisdom. You should try martial arts forums... gods blood... never again...

I tried posting my questions on other forums with more people, but no one replied. No one replies here, either, but I get the feeling most people here actually know what they're talking about, even if they choose not to talk. It's the lesser of two pathetics, you see.

And how is weightlifting an winter sport? I've got an outdoor gym in the tropics!

Oh god. *Spews*

And such staunch nationalism as this is no doubt above criticism? No?

Well, if not, I'd like to say that most of America's "paying" for free speech outside of the initial war with Britan was at the cost of other's right to freely chose their own ways. Example, Vietnamese should be free to chose their own government, so long as they don't chose communism. Iran should be free to speak out against dictatorship, so long as they don't chose shariah law. And all the America turns it's blind eye to the massacres of the military in Thaioland, where I live, because the Thai army and royals are good business partners. Money comes first - the business of the American government IS business.

Communism is not evil or illiberal, you see, no worse inherently than what American's have, anyway. It's just bad for American capitalism because Wall St. can't weasel it's way into government controlled markets that are there to protect it's citizens. So loose the missiles and public relations gurus, it's time for another fight for freedom.

America is no more capitalist than it has free speech. Capitalism is only possible in a state of anarchy, a condition where no one is above the law, a condition where there are no rulers and ruled. Government is the negation of private property and thus capitalism since government claims ultimate control over usage and disposal, ownership, over everyone and everything. Only the black markets are capitalist and even then half the transaction (the price of the dollar) is regulated, at least. The U.S. government, like all government no matter what it calls itself, is fascist, since it allows the pretense of private property to maintain personal incentive with real ownership maintained in government. Government is the negation of law since law to be valid must be universal, which is impossible under government since government is simply legalized crime, a protection racket where the rulers are "allowed" to rob, terrorize and murder. Government is crime, terrorism, slavery and chaos while anarchy, capitalism, is voluntary, lawful and orderly.

Okay, so this is about exact what I said in the other thread. Seems we are of similar minds on some things.
