Return of Mutlu
« on: Mar 31, 2012, 04:31 AM »
Would Mutlu get credit for a Masters WR if he does his lifts at the Sr European Championships? Just wondering because I can think of  superior performances by lifters of Masters age that did not count as Masters records

For instance as a 40 year old in 2001, Yurik Sarkisyan snatched 127.5 and 165 @ 62 at the 2001 World Championships but his World Masters records are 115 and 145 in the same age and weight category

Do WR lifts have to be set under certain conditions as to certain judging standards or something perhaps?  I don't know the answer but that is possible.  I think that here we have to have two of the judges be National Level for results to count towards qualifying for Masters National or Worlds.  Some thing to check maybe?

I checked the IWF Masters web site and it seems that a Masters WR can only be set at a few, international specifically Masters competitions. (continental championships, World Ch.)
