I read it as the A sample was positive, Taylan requested the B sample be tested, and that also turned out to be positive. Can't say it surprised me - mysterious last minute withdrawals from major competitions usually end up with the lifter getting popped a few months down the line.

Apparently 8 lifters tested positive in Paris also - names still to be released.

I thint that while lifters - and other athletes - have not a financial independence - this is a work to win the life - we will see those desesperate intents to mantain a fake train of life.
I´m not against monetary help for some athletes, but this must be limited in the time and condicionated to they study some profession or job. We now assist to a group of useless and improductive guys living a privilegiate life without work ("I had 4 sifilis this year!!! " spoked proudly a hungarian lifter in 1987).
We live in a world of causes and effects.

Do you know the name of the Hungarian Lifter?
I do not remember such an event.

I know the name. But he spokes that in private. So, I quote him but not his name. Is only a sample of the vision of those years and the "professional environment" in weightlifting and other sports. It is not personalized to Hungary, (I apologize if the quote suggest this), it was a global phenomeno.

syphilis, 4x in one year?

this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syphilis

Well, back on topic. I see value in some devoting a period of life primarily to the achievement of excellence in some endeavour but I think that when somebody's sole source of income is success in a sport like weightlifting, the incentive to use anabolics is overwhelming.

Yes, syphilis. 4 syphilis in one year as an estimative of his happy sexual life.
Imagine a guy with this mind depending of success in sport to eat.
Too far from "sport as a way to integral development of human being"
