Broken Bar Spin
« on: Dec 06, 2011, 02:49 PM »
We bought a training bar from Werksan.  Will be about a year old early next month.  However, the spin is already messed up.  Do you know what can have caused it?  I am going to call them to see if there is some sort of a warrenty on the bar.

My thoughts that might have caused it.  Some of our "bumbers" are really old (metal with the rubber around the edge) could using these have damaged it?  Kids clearing weights off and dropping one unloaded side while the other is loaded?  Using it for deadlifts (although I don't know if it was because of this because I have not seen anyone deadlift with over 275 lbs on it)?  Although with deadlifts, I usually don't let them use that bar, unless they sneak it past me.  A defect?

What do you think could have caused it?  I am a little peeved because we only have two olympic bars that have a decent spin and one is already jacked up.

Werksan bars have a lifetime warranty.  Contact them and they should correct the problem.
