Wightlifting attemps are in the limit of the hazard.
I worked as actuary in an insurance company, and weightlifting was the more expensive insure of accident of ever sports.
My own knee - surgery was financed by the insurance.
Is good to remember, not only for adequate training (usually these injuries are relationed with a great power and weak ligaments and phisical basis), but to have a financial reserve or an insurance (individual or colective) .
I observed that power increases more speedly than articular resistance.

I think the picture of Derrick Crass' dislocation and injury would be better for the parents.
