Bulgaria banned from 2011 World Weightlifting Championships

Paris. Bulgaria’s weightlifters will not take part in the World Weightlifting Championships Paris 2011. This is the official decision of the management board of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

The latest scandal in the Bulgarian weightlifting sports burst out because the country did not file the obligatory doping control documents. The Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation should have filed the documents to the IWF in January. Back then the Bulgarian Federation was headed by Anton Kodzhabashev.

The World Weightlifting Championships Paris 2011 was the last chance for one of the most successful sports in Bulgaria for the upcoming London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

And you thought USAW was incompetent.  Turns out it is not just Bulgaria that can't participate in the 2011 World Championships.  Here is the news item from the IWF website:

In accordance with the decision taken on the 14th September 2010, the IWF Executive Board on the 3rd November 2011 reconfirmed that NFs who have not submitted their whereabouts information according to the IWF Anti-Doping Policy, and despite following repeated warnings, cannot participate in the 2011 IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Paris, France.

The countries concerned are: BUL, CYP, KSA, OMA, QAT, SLE, SRI.
*************
That's Bulgaria, Cyprus, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar.  I'm not sure what countries SLE and SRI are.  Anyone know?  Seychelles?  Syria?  Surinam?

a lot of teams can profit from this, provided they sent full teams well at least 4 & 6
There is no shortage of stories where a small business person has been hit with tens of thousands or more of legal costs from their own lawyers. Then there is the potential of having to pay for the other sides legal costs if the small business person loses

I'm sick and tired of this. I really just want IWF and all other sports to completely legalize substance abuse...

And yes, I am serious. And I can't wait for scientists to successfully develop genetic engineering methods for athletes.

And I want that to be legal too.

We here speak the following: you can not want the pig and the $ 4.-
Or you participate with the norms, or you make that of you want, but out of the system.
But much people wants all of good that organizated sports gives. They are not propossing changes. But they want, by the back door, applicate lots of things that they have not the face to defend publically.
I im tired of that. Of hypocresy.
I have some things I would like society were different My action may be work for that. But not violate secretly the law because I think is wrong.
