I've seen the same report by other sources.

What an idiot.

Why is he an idiot? Because he got caught? From my view, his kidnapping and the theft of his private property is criminal.

For getting involved with cocaine, no matter what he was doing with it. I don't think it's a good idea. I think it's idiotic. How about that.

The theft of his property and confinement is a different issue and I did not comment on that.

Selling cocaine is very profitable. I've never used it myself, nor sold it of course. But, alcohol is just as dangerous, probably much more so actually. And, if he doesn't sell it, someone else will. People are still going to get their drugs of choice. Governments can't even keep it out of prisons, let alone out of society. I think he is a hero for providing such services to people who want them despite great risk to himself from the criminals posing as cops. ;)

It would be especially heroic to break him out of prison.

He's not a hero, and I'm sure he had none of those "heroic" values in mind. He wanted to make cash, it's a selfish reason. He's an idiot because of the risk factor. Getting involved in something so risky (legally, as well as the underground enforcement) is stupid.

He is indeed a hero. Nothing wrong with seeking profit by serving voluntary customers. This is free trade, capitalism- freedom. The less people that take the risk to sell these desired commodities, the higher the price will go and thus the greater the economic and personal cost to the users, bringing a consequent reduction in production for the entire society. And, this doesn't even begin to address the enormous costs of maintaining the police state to attempt to suppress the freedom to do what you want with your own body and imprison the millions of peaceful people at taxpayer [slave] expense. He put his own life at risk to give people what they want in a, as far as we know, peaceful fashion, thus reducing the cost of their habit on the entire society. It is private property. I think lots of things people spend their money on is stupid, like spinning and/or lighted rims on their cars for instance or fancy suits with ugly, stupid patterns hanging from their neck, and on to infinity. But, I respect their right to property, to do what they want with it because I will allow no interference with what I do with my property, from anyone- regardless of some old piece of paper saying they can "rule" me or an ugly uniform, badge and systematic bullying.

Chris,

The question is did he process and create the coccaine on his own with peaceful methods or did he buy it from a larger dealer who violates people's freedom to create, distribute, ect. the drug?  Personally, in my opinion, morally I cannot abide someone making a profit off the demise of others and their families through the use of the highly addictive drug.  However, definition wise you are correct Chris true freedom would allow anyone to use whatever drug they wished when they wanted to.  However, I would say this true freedom is impossible to obtain because human nature in my opinion will dictate someone always seeking to get ahead on the backs of taking freedoms from others in order to further thier own lifestyle and goals.
