Hey sorry for making two threads so quickly, this is just another thing im really interested in at the moment.

I power cleaned 112 when my best front squat was 110. Its really frustrating because i know im wasting potential on my full clean because i find it so hard to stand up with the weight.

My theory is that i have a stronger posterior chain compared to my weak quads. I used to just do low bar squats and i think i ended up with 140 tripple low bar and 85 tripple front when i started weightlifting.

Last comp i snatched 95 (can get 100 in training) and had to just powerclean 112 because if i had to squat for it i wouldnt stand up!

Any one got any advice on this?

P.s i also find it quite hard to keep my back strait on heavy fronts and full cleans

I myself find it hard to be upright when front squatting. But that was 5 weeks ago.

Back squatting with a narrow stance will almost always solve that issue.

And as far as what you should be doing for your training, you just need to front squat more like what Matt said.  :)wink

I agree with the above that you need to front squat more.  I would do some front squats where you pause at the bottom.

I think your "ps" might have told us something.  ( The difficulty keeping your back tight ).  Maybe you can address this by pausing at the bottom.  And maybe some kind of cue that helps you keep your back tight on the front squats.  Other than that, I agree with the others, you just have to get the front squat volume.  Best of luck.
