Topic: Get Olympic Lifting in the 2013 Police and Fire Games (Belfast)

I was checking out the sports roster to this years Police and Fire Games in New York, and noticed that they have "Bench Press" and "Push-Pull" and that's it for weight sports. I wrote to the federation responsible to ask them to consider getting weightlifting (or even just snatch, or just clean & jerk) included into the games, which are now the second largest games after the Summer Olympics! (according to Wikipedia).

Long story short, they told me that it is an approved sport, and it's up to the organizing committee of each games. If I wanted a sport included into a games, then I should contact the organizing committee for the next games in Belfast, N.Ireland in 2013.

So, if you're a cop, fire fighter, or would just like to see weightlifting get a little more exposure please take a minute to write to the Belfast organizing committee at info@2013wpfg.com and ask them to include our sport!
