New UK Strength Supplier - LIFTBIG
«

Hey guys,
Just launched a new business aiming to slowly begin supplying the strength scence - mainly olympic lifting to start with.
Currently we are offering our own clothing as well as weightlifting gear (shoes, suits, etc.) but are moving into supplements via myprotein and are currently looking for a powerlifting supplier (dont say pullum or strengthshop!).
We are attending the British weightlifting centenary, Under 23 champs in October and hoping to get down to the Commonwealth powerlifting champs in december!
Any suggestions/feedback you guys may have with regards to this - suggested products/methods/events to attend?
Website is
www.liftbig.co.uk
if you wanna have a look!
All feedback and suggestion appreciated!

Good luck with your new endeavor!
Some ideas:
1. One thing you might consider is to get some of the products you expect to sell well right on the landing page. Right now your landing page is all text and not particularly enticing (of course you just launched, so this is to be expected). Put in a bar of "best-sellers" or "hot items" or something, anything to get people to click directly on products right away and fill up that shopping cart. Without some eye-catching photos and prices right up front, too many people will just click on to see what the site is all about, then browse away immediately when their attention isn't held.
2. Another idea is to make the blog the main landing page, with products up and down the sides, and navigation along the top. If you update the blog regularly with interesting content, that'll bring people in on a regular basis. If you're not planning on updating the blog regularly, then make the store itself the main landing page. put the current blurb that's there in an "About" section. Interested people will click.
3. Since you only have 2 "clothing" items so far, and since some of the "weightlifting equipment" is clothing (singlets), you might as well just consolidate everything into one "store" link, and make the subcategories more descriptive:
-Store
---Weightlifting Shoes
---Weightlifting Singlets
---Adidas Perfect Sock
---T-shirts
---LiftBig Hoodie
---Weightlifting Chalk
A grid view for the store would use more screen real estate to get products visible without scrolling. Right now you're using a very tall/thin template, so it's tough to squeeze content onto the screen. Consider something flatter and wider.
And get those navigation links up top where they're easier to use and are where most people will be looking for them. For now, you only have content in:
Store / Blog / Reviews / Contact Us / Links / (About)
Excited to see where this goes!
