The first three lifts in this video... http://youtu.be/XVqFmj0T6pE  you never even made a serious attempt to get your back "set" to begin with.  Planks etc will do nothing to address a lack of deliberately getting properly set before you start the lift.  You have potential  :)thumbsup, but you are "spinning your wheels"  :)banghead until you become more deliberate in your intent.  :;wp)

I hope you can find something useful in these comments.  :)hello My intent is NOT to just criticize you.  :)ugh

If I ever move to Florida for a short or long time (or even for a lifetime), I would like to meet you in person.

Assuming of course, you're not scared of me.

yes sir!! lol i will try the snatch thing 2marro. Thing is my back if u punched it u would break ur hand ha, ive been told i get lazy under the snatch.ehh
I saw your deadlift video, and that is really strong. The problem is not strength, it's how you use it. In the deadlifts your back is slightly rounded. It's a strong position for deadlifting, but not good for pulling or catching in weightlifting. You need to work on holding the arch so your will have more control. I hope that makes sense. I wasn't calling you weak.  :)peaceout

My max deadlift is 605, but I snatched and clean & jerked more when my max deadlift was 550.
I do not see the relevance of your 315 deadlift to setting your back properly for the snatch and clean & jerk,
other than you cannot seriously use "lack of strength" as an excuse for not getting you back set correctly.

I agree with the general consensus from storch - your set position could be alot better,

Shoulders over the bar, tighten up the back (control the arch) this will give you a better start

Also when you front squat, keep elbows high and concentrate on keeping a big chest and butt out to keep your arch in the lower back - this will give you a stronger back to transfer the force through - which will help both in your squats and in your oly lifts.

Seems to be more a control/good practice issue than a strength one - your trunk goes to jelly so you cant use the strength you obviously have!
