My coach, who is Polish, always promoted a diet of steak, veggies and vodka.  "You are American, you can have one bottle.  If you were Russian, you could have two."  Rigert chain-smoked as well as drinking heavily.
I guess the American version would be steak, veggies, and whiskey. Though I do prefer Irish and Scotch over American. It's the principle that's important.  rockon:)
