Huge Muscles!

I've been reading Medvedyev's "System" book. The weight/height ratio looked a little off to me. I checked Shaun's article (below) and the numbers were very different.
http://weightliftingexchange.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=57&Itemid=62
Here are the two charts from the book:
56 - 149
60 - 155
67.5- 160
75 - 164
82.5- 168
90 - 172
+90- 185
Roman 1974
52 - 149
56 - 153
60 - 159
67.5- 164
75 - 168.5
82.5- 172.5
90 - 176
100 - 178
110 - 181
+110- 185
So even with the 2 lifts the weight/class is significantly increasing well after a "transition period", at least to 1986. This is certainly different from what I've been led to believe. Of course the 80's are known as the steroid era, but it doesn't seem to me that the athletes then are heavier for their height then current athletes. Interestingly the dominant USA lifters are typically shorter (greater weight/height) than the national-level competition. I can't help but think the "long and lean" ideal is a step in the wrong direction.
Shaun is privy to height/class info from an international competition that may be of value. Should he care to share.

Matt might be referring to some data I collected from Eurosport press spreadsheets from 3-4 years ago
See it here. I only have values for weight classes in between 56-77 kg, and then I quit digging

Guessing that 85s are mostly 171-174. A slimmer guy like Yufkin could be 175, thicker like Aukadov could be 169-171. Hennequin and Farris are something like 167-169 but they are not at the top in total kg.

It would be interesting to know the height of guys like Sedov, Ilin, Klokov, Akkaev, and Dolega. They are pretty big.
