175 Clean+Jerk attempt.MP4

This was done on July 26, 2011.

This is the 9th week of my training...

(EDIT: I ordered some weightlifting shoes already, so for the next heavy training session, I will be using them.)

Do some overhead lunges or something and get under the weight like you mean it when you split jerk.

Try doing alot of "jerk from rack"....and maybe BTN jerks. Your clean looks plenty strong  :)thumbsup

My jerk is definitly my weak link....allow me to share a video I found which has really helped me.....check this out Vik

power clean + triple power jerk

I perform the power jerk as opposed to the split, so this is espicially good for me. Where you split, just change it from power, to 3 split jerks. The emphasis of this complex is to generate more power, and focus on the jerk. Hope this helps

yeah, i'd like to know too, i've only done it a few times but am scared to do that thing again even though it would help with drills like the power jerks, etc.

Third week attempting 175 pounds for Clean+Jerk.MP4

It was easy. I then proceeded to attempt 185 pounds and failed. (The newly-bought shoes must've helped the lift, so I don't want to call this a true P. R. )
