Folks,
The best of times, the worst of times.

Shelbie Serpan just competed in the 75+B session and what a day she had.

She went 5 for 6 and hit 5 competition PRs including competing at her first Junior Worlds.

Shelbie finished 5th or 6th overall in the B session with lifts of 78kg, 81kg and 84kg. The last two were PRs.

She then hit 99kg and 104kg for makes and 104kg was a PR in the clean and jerk.  She then moved up to 110kg with another PR clean, but the jerk was just a bit out front.

She is a beginning lifter and will definitely attend NMU next year.

Chioma opened up with a very easy 96 in the snatch for the A session today and it was a success. Up next on the docket, an attempt with 101.

She missed it behind, but it was powerful.  She then went to 102 and that too, unfortunately was a miss.

She opened up with 130 for the clean and jerk and after an easy clean, she unfortunately lost control a bit on the jerk and no lift.

Her second clean with the same weight was no good as it was a bit out front.  I think there was at least one or two lifters in-between this lift.

She then prepared for the same weight again for her third.  She cleaned the weight with ease, but the officials turned down the jerk 2 to 1.  Chioma had no total, but should be back as she has opportunities for other Junior Worlds.

In this session, the KAZ girl, a 15 year old, set a youth world record in the snatch with 122.
