Cortney Batchelor Final and some observations

Folks,
Cortney just finished up her lifts. 4/6 and 82 easy opener and two misses with 86. One no clean and then a strong tough clean and missed jerk out front that she hung onto all the way to the bar stop. The bar stop works folks! I told her she was the beta-tester.
This was a PR snatch and total day for her and again, make lifts type of competition. She is young and obviously needs technical work, but to PR at Junior Worlds and get that exposure can't be underestimated. Good for her is what I say.
Some more observations:
They are playing USA music here in the hall. It probaby sits 5000 but so far kinda small for crowds. There are a few sponsors here in the back and plenty of signs though.
The music ranges from the 40's crooner types that T. Grow would be familiar with to the 80's Gloria Estafan music. This is somewhat similar to Anatalya and Worlds in 2010 as we traveled 6000 miles only to hear the theme from FOX Sports News after almost every lift.
They are selling coke, ice cream soda, yeah, it is not that good unfortunately and some kind of coffee drink that is real good.
Lifters from POL and KAZ, again real slow pulls. Pole has wide foot start and hips the bar and jumps forward. Jerks are solid though.
Now, for the rest of the athletes, they pull fast and strong. The ESP girl does a bit too much straight up in the 2nd pull, but she does the classic South American jump the hands way wide on the jerk.
The French and IND pull like mad from the floor all the way through and it shows; they make easy cleans.
Again, just a 'B' session and a few observations.
Our two 62kg guys are up next.
Sweeet.
