I don't think he was really set on the idea either.  He asked me if that was something I think I could do and I told him I didn't think so and he said he didn't think I could just walk away either.  He said maybe if I was 40 and my priorities were different.  The trainer and I both agree that the best thing I could to is get an MRI to look at it to make sure its nothing bad.  But other than that we are just doing what we can and I don't have insurance or money so that is out right now.

So, I have been trying to fit split jerks into my program.  I feel my snatches andy cleans are much stronger but my jerks are trailing behind a bit.  I partically attribute this to snatching and cleaning 2x a week but jerking only once.  Here is my current week (my rest days are friday and sunday):

I've skipped reading the responses but this one caught my attention.

I personally do split jerks WITH cleans all the time. If you are capable of split jerking X weight but can full clean X+10 weight, stick with X weight for a bit even if you know you can clean much more.

The other exercises, such as the squats, snatches and pulls will pretty much cover the decreased, clean-pull intensity.

Ask more questions if you need more clarification.
