Folks,
Arrived today in Penang, Malaysia to a fantastic organized check-in process from the welcome signs at the Customs area in the Malaysian airport to the credential room at the Equitorial Hotel; a really nice hotel about 10 minutes from the airport and all inclusive for everyone attending.
There are about 54 countries competing and a who's who will be in attendance. From Romania, Nicu Vlad is here and I believe I saw Chun Byung Kwan, the 56kg lifter who set some records back in the early 90's including possibly the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.
We'll have pictures and accounts of our athletes as most make their way from the United States today across the wide oceans to Penang, Malaysia with a late afternoon planned arrival.
Paul Coffa is the meet director and has a fantastic support group helping him out for the next few weeks.
Regards,
Mark Cannella
