Taxation is pure evil and thus is an evil source of funding for sport. There is no sane reason why people who don't participate in weightlifting should be robbed to fund those that do.

They put in a 1% sales tax to build the place then charged you a $20 a month membership fee.  Thats a catch 22.  If they are having financial troubles then they need to do as any buisness does either 1. cut expenses or 2. raise revenue (through increased fees or what not).

Actually, in that case, the place should be liquidated and every cent stolen through taxation returned, plus interest, inflation adjustment, and restitution for mental anguish caused by the government's theft.
