The best thing that could happen for weightlifting in America is for the USAW to go bankrupt. I suspect this may occur pretty soon, assuming they haven't adjusted the foundation's investments away from inevitably worthless dollar based assets.

Another question to propose is, why do the top Sr. male and female athletes, the top male and female Jr. athletes, and the top male and female school age athletes, get equal funding yet the "2012 Medal Potential Athlete" is only one person? Shouldn't the schematic be the same? I think that there is a possibility to get a medal on the men's side as well as the women's side.

Maybe because even just one athlete is aiming high?

But seriously I have no idea what that is or how it is determined. I thought all lifters that made the Olympic team were given extra funding.

Once the Islamic League for American Domination (ILAD) is done with them, they will be.

I think if we were going to start calling things unfair in regards to gender in weightlifting, we would have to condemn the sacrifice of the men's classic weight classes for the women and a lot of the excessive, in proportional terms, funding that went to the women when they were more competitive due to the developing nature of the sport. In short, its men that have gotten the short end of the stick so to speak and in the business sense they really sacrificed a lot of development potential for the men due to this misunderstanding of the evolving nature of women's lifting.
