I updated the junior and senior men's records. Kendrick Farris' 203 @ 85kgs climbed above Curt White's 200 @ 82.5kgs on the all-time golden standard senior mens ranking list, becoming the 6th best clean and jerk in American history out of all weight classes. Also, Jared Fleming seized the all-time junior records in the 94 division (90,91,94kg classes) for the snatch and total, taking the 16th position on the all-time golden standard junior mens ranking list for the snatch and 10th for the total.

How come you didn't put Oscar Chaplin down for the Jr. 94 kg snatch record? He did 157.5 as a 77...that's way lighter than what jared weighed when he did 152...Melanie Roach should have the 53kg and 58kg clean and jerk record because she weighed less the berube when she did 113kg...Khadijah hunter did more as a 69 than cara heads did as a jr. 75 so shouldn't khadijah have the 75kg record for the snatch with her 97.5? Danica Rue 117.5 is better than kelley lynch's 115 as a 75....

Interesting. So you are saying you think a SN, CJ and total set on the same day should be eligible for simultaneous records in multiple weight divisions? I hadn't thought about it I suppose and just followed precedent in allowing a superior record in a lighter class, if thats how the chips fall. But, in this context your idea does make some sense to me, if I understand what you are trying to say. I haven't reviewed the women's numbers in a long while....

I think it makes sense too. I mean they did it under the weight category, it's not their fault nobody lifted more weight in the higher classes. For ex: if rybakov ever snatched 189 as an 85 they should give him the 85 and 94kg world records...

I am in favour of giving Rybakov the 94 kg snatch record as well, I wonder if Kakhi came out in support of that would it happen.

I think this is an excellent idea...
just as soon as they change the rules and allow a lifter below a class limit to compete in any heavier weight class they choose.

Yes, I am unsure presently- good points on both sides.

Chris, I was interested to know if you could tell me, is there much difference between the sinclair rankings of lifters compaired to the gold-standard or is it just an alternative but similar ranking system.

I have compiled a list of the top 300 or so lifters on sinclair rankings and there are some interesting results.

ps.. congrats on making this fabulous website!
Regards,
Mike
