Online Weightlifting Event Registration Resource
« on: Mar 25, 2011, 02:05 PM »
All,

I have recently been made aware of an online weightlifting event registration service and wanted to pass the information on to USAW Meet Directors. I have spoken with the site's webmaster, Peter Haas, extensively about his service, and I believe it can be of great use to anyone running a weightlifting competition in the US.

His website is http://weightliftingevents.com/

Peter is a CrossFit-to-weightlifting convert (and people said that those wouldn't exist...) and brings with him an extensive knowledge of digital data sharing. He works with several new weightlifters, most of whom are kids, and he understands the questions and concerns of start-up and grassroots weightlifting programs. Most of his knowledge he garnered on his own out of necessity as he struggled to establish himself on his local weightlifting scene.

I will be working with Peter extensively in my effort to improve Strength+'s digital issue, and I have every confidence that his skillset can be of great help to Meet Directors in order to expedite the weightlifting event registration process and to promote user-friendly registration interfaces.

From Peter:

"The purpose of WLE.com is simple: sell out your meet ahead of time so you can focus on running a quality meet.

What we do and what we will handle for you:

1. Information – Listing will include all information pertaining to your meet.  We have an FAQ up to handle common questions.  We will handle email and phone inquiries and only contact you if we don’t have an answer to their question.

2. Registration – We will capture all lifter information and process their registration fees via credit card.  Once online registration closes we will send you all of the lifter information and transfer their fees to your account.  You can plan for the exact number of lifters and not have to worry about cash flow issues related to accepting payments on the day of the meet.

3. How to run a meet – If this is your first meet, we have an information packet available to help you plan and run your meet.

4. Sponsors – We can provide assistance in setting up sponsors for your event.

5. Marketing – We will contact all of the Crossfit Affiliates and registered USAW lifters in your state’s region via email to announce your event.

6. No direct cost – You do not pay directly for our services.  Competitors pay a surcharge to register for your event."

Sincerely,
