Need new routine
« on: Feb 10, 2011, 06:39 PM »
I don't know if this is considered "Olympic" lifting, but I am a sophomore in high school. I was on the weightlifting team, but was pulled off for private reasons. Although I cannot lift in school, I still have an Olympic 45 pound bar, and 300 pounds of weights.
I just started lifting seriously only a month ago, so my stats are low, at a 175 clean, 145 jerk, 195 front squat, 235 back squat, and 185 bench. I have yet to attempt to snatch. Can anyone recommend a full week, monday through friday, routine that will help me gain results in clean and jerk, and bench press for competitions?
Note the bench must go on either Monday or Thursday, as these are the only days I have a spotter. Thank you, and sorry if this is the wrong forum for my question.

How about Monday and THursday:

Clean and Jerk - Singles to maximum (permit 2 fails); 2x2r @ 85%
Front Squat - to maximum triple
Bench - to maximum 5 reps

You can try this routine out, I found it worked really well for me. Then just add bench in 1-2x a week on the off days. 4 sets of 5 (if you complete add 10 lbs for next session) then some incline and some tricep work(crushers or close grips) second session of the week to 4 sets of 5 incline then move to 3 sets of 3 on flat, then triceps.
