Questions about the transition on the Snatch!?!
« on: Dec 28, 2010, 07:20 PM »
Good evening Guys and Gals.

I have a few questions about the snatch.  Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am a 85 kilo lifter.  My best snatch ever is 96 kilos.  I just hit a new pr last week.  I did 92.5 for a double without putting the weight down. One from the floor and one below knee.  I can pull up to 110 to my chin for 3s.  When we do pulls we hit the top position with the elbows to the ceiling up on toes and bar as high as we can.   I can push press snatch grip 100 kilos for 5 reps.   My question to everyone is how do i work on the transition from aggressive high pul to rock bottom position with the snatch locked out over my head?  Blocks?  Drop Snatches?  Above knee?   Thanks for all of your help and support.  THis forum as of late has had some excellent information.

Agreed above knee and I'd include the drop snatches.

An interesting observation- I'd be lucky to pull 100 to my chin for 3 and I MIGHT be able to snatch grip push press 100 for 5, yet I snatch more than that.

You've got to be convinced you can do it.  Believe believe believe!

Hey guys.   SOrry about the delay.  I was out of town.   Thanks for the input!  I def plan on incorporating some block work and about knee training in my next phase.   Storch it is strange how i am so strong in all the other positions.  Frustrating.  lol.  Are you getting ready for the 15th?

The simple answer is no.
Your current problem has nothing to with a lack of strength and everything to do with a difficulty in properly applying the strength you have.
I'd be there on the 15th, if I didn't have to work.
