(maybe 'cause I'm feeling cranky today...) I'm getting tired of seeing these videos. Pat obviously has talent and strength that is off the charts. When the hell are we gonna see what he can do; not on his own time but within a minute of being called and without straps?

Well he's definitely got the best snatch on youtube for a Jr. Super-heavy-weight using straps. What's the Jr. World Record youtube clean and jerk?

it is pretty amazing stuff regardless, but the way he RIPS the bar from the floor makes me feel like hes getting at least 5-10 kgs more due to the straps.

I also agree with tom, he has never once shown anywhere close to this level of talent in a competition (tested or not).  its like those stories of Botev clean and jerking 270 at 110 in training, but then never even coming close to that in any competition, even at 120 body-weight.

I'm starting to get the mindset that what ever someone lifts in training doesn't mean jack ****, and although in sure Pat doesn't care what I think, I just cant take him seriously until he does 90+% of his youtube videos in an actual tested competition.

3 REDS! He stepped off the platform.  JK, impressive but I would like to see him break the record in a meet and get in the books.  That would be cool to see Americans start to do something in the sport.  If he wants to lift for the joy of lifting that is cool with me but I thought we wanted to compete and set records and win comps?  Hopefully time will tell and bring him to the platform.

PS I hold the unofficial senior record in my weight class...............................................in my mind :)banghead

Sorry dudes, but y'all are a bunch of losers.

Not a flame, just returning as you are giving.

This is exactly the kind of monkey scat that discourages

great athletes from doing as well as they could...

Just to get as picky as seems your style --

that was not a 4m platform, and so you have no evidence

that he would have stepped off a competition platform.

If YT vids are such a bogus thing,

then where are all the other Americans going 200+k SN

(or even 400+ lbs) for the online fame?

Competition does take things to a more meaningful level,

in part because it so greatly restricts what is possible

even as it also enhances -- I am very hopeful for

when we see the result of things lining up for Pat

to lift big officially, but until then I am more than thrilled

to see every bit of his talent that's shared online.

I agree w/ Mark Davis --
"Compromising on basic beliefs
in a doomed effort to be liked
is as dishonest as it is futile."

Strong lift.

It is a shame he has a injury bug that sets him back a lot (this might give half the answer why he is not competing). I hope he compete sometime in the future.
