Good Evening Everyone,

I have been reading on blogs, FB comments,  and news articles stating that his training style and methods are far from the norm and very unique.  I researched online and cannot find much information him and LSU programming.  Does anyone know what he does or exercises he implements into his design?  Very curious in finding out some information.  Thanks in advance.   James

Here you go.

Just for the record, we don't do am and pm workouts. All exercises are done in 1 training session 4-5 days a week.

The best thing I can tell you is take about a week or even a few days and come visit us at LSUS and experience our training program first hand. Yes there have been workouts from our gym posted online but for the most part they change every training cycle slightly. Also one cannot fully understand how to do this training program just by reading the workout. Having Kyle walk you through it in person would be much better because i'm sure you would have many questions. We're always welcoming visitors and our workouts are posted on the board right when you walk inside so there aren't any hidden secret workouts.

Sean,

Couple of quick questions:

How many times per week did you do the full lifts (SN, CJ) in the last 6-8 weeks leading up to the AO?

About how many times (ballpark), in the 6-8 weeks leading up to the AO, did you SN and CJ loads at or above your openers in that meet?

Thanks in advance, and congrats on a fine performance in that contest.

Throughout our 12 week training cycle we usually snatch and clean and jerk on Saturdays every week so that is one day a week we always do both full lifts. During the week we don’t do full lifts until our peaking/competition and tapering phase which last for 3 weeks up until the competition and we alternate snatch one day and clean and jerk the next.  Before that we are in our 3 rep phase for 2-3 weeks where we usually snatch on Thursday and clean on Tuesday for triples from the floor. Everything we do before the 3’s and peaking phase is from the knee position or the thigh/power position and is done for either 5 or 3 reps.

In peaking we usually snatch and clean and jerk pretty heavy with our main goals to have zero misses in the full lifts. It really just depends on the person and how they handle the training. I personally snatched or clean and jerked up to 90%+ almost every day during our peaking and ending my training cycle the Monday and Tuesday before by going up to 90% and 80% of my openers on Monday and Tuesday and then not lifting again until I competed on Friday afternoon. My best lifts in the training cycle before this meet were 111kg snatch and 135kg clean and jerk although I was consistently hitting between 105-110kg snatch and 125-130kg clean and jerks.

I hope this helps you understand a little bit more how we train.
