Pain on my heels
« on: Dec 07, 2010, 04:41 AM »
Hello

Very quick question.

I'm a beginner-level lifter (do it as a compliment to my football workout). I have the appropriate foot gear, but my heels are starting to hurt when I land the lifts.

Is that normal? Is it likely to do with wrong technique? Should I just work through the pain?

Thanks

PS: I intend to upload some videos with me doing the lifts, so I can get some critique from people on this forum. Is that okay, or is it frowned upon in here?
Squat 155 kg (3x5); Bench 90 kg (3x5); Clean 100 kg; Snatch 70 kg; Weight ~180 lbs

I am not familiar with the problem of painful heels when doing OL, but you are welcome to post video and you may receive feedback. Please edit the videos :)

You may be jumping off the platform too much. Your feet should only come up about an inch so you can move them and then land. If you are jumping up high, then you are wasting energy.
