please comment on my sn high pull
« on: May 08, 2010, 06:23 PM »
I spent a large portion of yesterday's training session looking largely at my starting position, since i felt it had a lot to be desired.   My coach instructed me to start off with 40k deadlifts (focusing more on the movement & not so much on the speed). A bit of adjustment was done in terms of my position over the bar, hand plaement & stuff like that.

I then went from doing dl's to doing high pulls at an obvious faster pace, with still 40k. By this stage I felt better & more confident.   I think what I was previously doing was putting more pressure on the balls of my feet when pushing off than on my heels...since i was bringing my hips up too early.

We then progressed to add more weight. Here's a vid of myself doing a 50kg snatch high pull. I'd love to hear your comments. I"m aware that I"m jumping slightly back.  This is possibly an effect of not leading with my hips &/or not having the bar close enough to my body.   Any/all feedback is warmly accepted.

do you work on doing light weights back wards amd snatch balance, doing the lift backwards can tell you where your body can naturally change positions (i.e. lever locations)  and build confidence for better technique?
There is no shortage of stories where a small business person has been hit with tens of thousands or more of legal costs from their own lawyers. Then there is the potential of having to pay for the other sides legal costs if the small business person loses

John, i'm not entirely sure what you mean. I do a good bit of light work, mostly in the area of 70-85% work.  Recently my coach (tony) has gotten me to do 5 sets of 6 reps for example! Are you asking do i do light snatch balances?
