I noticed my flatfooted take off and hurry to get under the bar limited my ability to extend in the second pull.  I am letting my weight shift toward the balls of my feet and that helps.  Are there any cues or drills I can use to help me extend more fully and not rush to drop under the bar.

I am not convinced that you need to extend more fully, can you show us what your lifting looks like?

the DELIVERY of your mass and energy

into the bar is more important than mm of extension.

Whatever happens at the toes/ankles/knees mustbe

secondary to what happens at the hips.

I recommend added top pops on the pulls

as seen in some Chinese training hall vid

and what I call Quick SN and CL.

I"m pretty novice...very novice. That's my disclaimer.......

I've found that thinking about rolling from the heel to your toes is a great way to move into the 2nd pull a great method!! is that what you were looking for ?

Thanks for all the input.  I will focus on "popping the hips" and rolling to toes on some hi-pulls to start my next workout.  I will get a video posted when I figure out to do it.  Hopefully, my computer and lifting skills will both improve.

The best cue I've ever been told is simply "stand up!".

Solid advice there. Something similar I was taught about when starting was to transition into a verticle jump!

leading with the hips is a well known mantra at my gym
