I'm doing something wrong.......
« on: Mar 04, 2010, 05:28 PM »
Team,

I had a technical training session last night. It was nice & brief, while very benifitial. I worked on changing foot plaecment, the snatch balance & some higher intensity clean work.

It's been imprintend into my memory that having my feet at hip width is optimal for generating power in the first & second pull (of both the sn & cln) & having a wider stance will allow better depth when it comes to receiving & recovery (squatting up).  So I put that knowledge into practice & what i found was that i was moving my feet IMO too wide apart. What could be causing this? Could it just be the early stages of learning a new'ish habit (of going from a narrow to wider stance), could it be that i'm pulling myself backwards? I don't know.

p.s. i'm getting under the bar a lot quicker

On another note, i've noticed that a few of the more experienced guys & girls yesterday while training were jumping backwards. Not much. Perhaps only an inch. What's causing that? Is that ok (in terms of optimal), or is it so insignificant that it doesn't matter?!
