Strange Phenomena Associated With Sickness

Does anyone else get this?
One odd thing I noticed when getting sick is when I have a training day right before I get sick, I lift better than ever the day before I get sick. For that day I feel more energized, stronger, and more powerful. I think it has to do with my body ramping up to fight a sickness that is already there but hasn't manifest symptoms yet. But it is still strange that these days precede getting sick I lift so much better. For example, saturday I almost set a C&J pr after a pretty heavy lift day then went and squatted 2x2 of heavy doubles. I was tired that day and especially after but my lifting was great. Then sunday I got real sick.

I developed the flu early morning February 19th and I had a workout just 4-5 hours before it began. Looking back at what I did, I don't think I felt particularly strong or energetic that workout. It wasn't a bad workout though.
Get well.

Got a sore throat twice now , exactly 2 days after a very good lifting day.
My assumption is that you were already on the threshold of getting ill, but not quite ill yet & the great workout pushed you right over the edge.
Getting ill is a very common phenomenon in the start of a season when you increase volume & intensity of workouts (or mileage & speed for the endurance weenies) but have yet to ramp up your food intake.

I recall Abadjiev saying that his lifters had lower t-lymphocyte count, which leads to a weakened immune system.

Ok this is kinda out of control, my last sickness was a head cold that developed into a sinus infection. They pumped me full of meds and then I got over that and now am sick again. Does anyone have any tips to help stay healthy?

Support your intestines. I eat a lot of yogurt and lacto-fermented foods. I recommend looking into the Weston Price Foundation website, and getting the book "Nourishing Traditions."
