Moz's lifting journal.

Hi guys Im new to this site and new to weightlifting so please be nice :)

My names Moz and Ive been powerlifting for around 9yrs and moved over to weightlifting around 8 weeks ago. my 1st comps coming up on the 8th of May 2010. I train @ a local gym but sometimes travel to Gorton in Manchester (UK) to get some expert coaching.

Ive been keeping a journal on another strength forum but its more of astrongman related site so I thought Id post here where theres more like minded poeple. heres my snatch tech:

Welcome. I like your lifts. They are slo-mo and light but I think with further training in the lifts they will look good.
Need to have your front foot further ahead in the jerk so that your shin is about vertical (or at least not sloping away from you)

Not bad at all.    I wouldn't correct any of my lifters if they lifted like you.    Just keep on .    You're doing well.

hey guys Im a right numpty, started a journal then ran out of internet data allowence. I'll post this weeks training, weights in kgs.

Monday 7th March 2010

snatch balance
5x5

snatch
40 x 2
50 x 2
60 x 2
65 x 1
70 x 1
75 x fail x 3sets. Getting the weight OH wasnt a problem the catch was. two fell infront and one behind.

1 snatch, 5 OH squats
60 x 5x5

cleans 2 from hang one from the floor
70 x 5.

benchpress
140 x 5 sets x 3reps

tuesday 8th march 2010

snatch balance

60 x 5s x 2r. Sitting in the catch for 2 secs

clean 2 from hang 1 from floor
70 x 5

cardio
16kg kettlebell, 5 swings, 5 shoulder presses, 5 rows L then R x 5 = 1 set!!! 3 sets 30 secs rest

Hi Moz how you been you found this sight too check the vids on Mark Huster and Petrov/Chackarov mate can we link these to Sugden they are worth a look keep going mate May see you at the masters qualifiers march 2011.
