I wrote an article for my blog and I think some of you on this board may be interested. Why do we train so hard and lift weights? Well these are my reasons...

Barry ,

I heartily agree with everything you put in your little story . When I started out it was to be as big as my big father , who at 6-2 and 270 was quite big to me and others around the area. To make it short I ended up only 5-9 and 160 when i graduated from HS,but that didn't stop me from getting on board with my dream. From training in my buddies pole barn, which had a York olympic set from the 1930's and cement dumbells and then onto a smaller barn in town which had a lot of home made equipment. Finally, in the mid 70's I started training at the big university and there I got educated because now I was training with a two time Olympian , Fred Lowe. Now days I'm training in my basement and there's a lot of people who make that their training space. I might be quite be quite a bit older than in the 60's,but the fire is still there , it just takes a little longer to warm up the joints .
