stupid (may be) question on bulgarians

Generally all bulgarian lifters (most of all the ones from the 80's) are not very muscled. Most of all looked likes a clerks, more than a lifter.
I saw now, new generation lifters like Stoitsov with a incredible muscle mass. Also Jaber S Salem have huge bodystructure.
1) I would like to know if in the recent years bulgarian changes a little bit theire training regime, adding some new exercise and/ or some repetition.
2) looking at old video on youtube, it looks like that most of bulgarian have a hard recovery (front squat) from the clean. Is it possible or just an impression of mine?
Thank yuo.

Stoitsov was an exception because he did bodybuilding for a time in between returning to weightlifting
Could you mention any lifters who had had difficulty recovering from the clean? I can't think of any without watching a lot of videos.

Shaun I must go on memory, but, let's say quite everyone of the 86 to 88 period (i cant remember their name, I suppose Verbanov, Guencev, Gidikov, Marinov, and so on)
I must be clear, the had very hard recovery BUT using very very very heavy weight!!
Compared to other lifters to other country, that usvally smoke out the recovery squat, bulgarian lifters looked like they are slower in that part of the lifts.

Is there a dominant school of training thought these days?
