My coach only lets me use straps for shrugs and deadlifts. It gives me a better grip on the bar.

Do you do opposing grip for the deadlift or use the Olympic lift style?

I tried the opposing grip but just didn't like it. Perhaps if I had given it more time I would have grown accustomed to the feel. But I prefer a more natural grip so the use of straps is beneficial to me.

Makes sense, I am just so used to the opposing grip due to my PL training but it makes me feel week on the OL style grip, which is more important for me right now since opposing grip is hard to snatch.
