I'm used to training in places without mirrors, so it's distracting for me to train with them, especially on squats where I tend to follow my reflection with my eyes. My solution (OK actually my mom's  :)thumbsup) is to put a post-it note on the mirror to focus on. The note can easily be removed and stored in the back of your training notebook when you're done.

Thanks for Sharing Lilian.  That is awesome advice for those of us who travel and often don't get to train at the same place all the time.  Much better than taking off my glasses and worrying if they're going to get crushed.

All the best,
 Arden

Arden, I've seen some of the videos of your comps -- very impressive. I can see how OL would help with a lot of those events. I must admit the chainsaw event always makes me nervous watching guys push and pull those things hard through the logs. I hope no one has ever been hurt doing that.

I hope your daughter enjoys OL as much as you. I would like to get one of my three to take up a sport but no such luck...well the oldest has recently taken up snowboarding. :)ugh

Thanks so much!!  I am very blessed in as much as both my daughters have an interest.  My youngest has sooo many genetic gifts for weightlifting it's sorta shocking (thick boned, strong legs, strong back, strong hips, exceptionally quick, and she doesn't not have my long arms.  :)thumbsup).

The chainsawing is my least favorite events.  I prefer the more physical events as  I love to train.  Chainsawing competively is hard, don't get me wrong, but it is not near as demanding as chopping and crosscut sawing.

The great thing about OL is that we can do it for as long as we're interested.  Someday, when your child who snowboards, has lost interest and wants to look good for his peers, he'll come to dad and inquire.    biggrin:)

My eldest  has realized that weight is just a number and OL is making her clothes fit nicer and she's stronger.  And she likes that!
