I personally use B and love them because there short and I can release them from the bar ok, but I don't do snatches personally because of injury.  If you are doing snatches I recommend Ironminds third version which are open at the end so you are not accidently tied to the bar if you lose the snatch.

I never even picked up a strap in the gym until i started doing hang snatches and reps. Now i never take them off...

I started with a homemade version ov the second picture, and i loved 'em. So simple. But when some goof actually STOLE my homemade welfare straps i had to actually buy some and the best i could find looked a lot like the first picture. They were a bit more ov a pain, still are, but i got used to them quick enough. Mine are tearing already though, so next ones will be like the first. A friend's mom makes them out ov this smooth seat-belt like material. They would have lasted forever. I hope the guy that stole them snaps both wrists trying to do cleans...

I wear the first ones and have no problem with releasing them in the snatch overhead

I have made a pair like the second style (made out of a judo belt), but I went through them like butter. Anyone know of a good material to use?

Webbing. You can get it from any outdoor store.

I asked because i was having trouble with strap a and wanted to know if strap b was better. I just bought a pair will let ya'll know.

Any idea how much webbing costs?

I'm going to try and make a pair of straps out of a canvas belt...let's see if I can stitch them better than the last pair I made.

Its pretty cheap from what I can remember. Like $1.20 a foot I think.

I personally just bought mine from Ironmind (they use webbing). I had some other stuff I wanted to order so it was no big deal.

Version B is my personal preference.
You can make these yourself for less then 2 bucks with climbing webbing and some trainers tape.

you don't even need to sew the ends together, tape works fine.
