HA!   :)applaud  Can you imagine if that ball would have popped when you were doing your crunches?  That would not have been good.

Uh... NO. And thats pretty much the reason why i never bother anymore. Ab-workouts hit my arms harder than abs because ov all the weight i have to hold.

I'm very blessed in that when I was OL focused, I trained with 2006 WSM Phil Pfister the last 10 weeks before each of his major contests the past few years.  He would do two "gym workouts" a week, and I'd join him.  Then he'd do his event work, while I did mine.  The gym workouts were epic - heavy, unstable surface, and just down right silly.  Nick Osbourne programmed it and some of the movements were insane.  One of my favorites was a circuit we'd do - Conventional pull 585 for 5, sumo pull 225 on dyna dics x5, then stand on the ball side of a bosu ball and do RDL with 40lb dumbells.  Absolutely insane.  We'd do about four of those circuits.  When were  done we were done!!!!!

And I loved it!

All the best,

You lucky bastard... training with someone stronger is ALWAYS good, even if its a bodybuilder. But a WSM champ... Nice.

In addition to training with Phil, I often "trained around" Brian Siders.  Now there's a freak of epic proportions.  He warms up with 315 on the bench.  seriously.  I once watched him bench the following in a five day span - Monday - 545x5x3 - raw, normal grip, with ease; Wednesday - 515x3x3 - raw, close grip, again with ease; Friday - 405x10x3.  When I remarked about him doing the 405 for ten sets of triples, his response was "It's only 50%."  Which is technically correct.

My hope is to get to Moorestown NJ, or to Pittsburgh Barbell in the next few months for a few days of training.  I'd love to have a few of the coaches there to give me some lessons.  I need some hands on to get through some hurdles I'm having right now.  But at least I'm starting to reckognize the technical problems I'm having on my own - I'm actually pretty excited about that.  That will help me immensely with my 12 year old daughters lifting as well as the club we're starting her in WV in about a month.

All the best,
 Arden
